FAQs

Consult the table below to see how our goalkeeper gloves measure up. Please note that this should serve as a rough starting point. Each model, style, and goalkeeper’s hand will have slight variations. You won’t truly know your perfect size until you try on your first glove. If the fit isn’t quite right, you can easily swap it for another size.

How to Measure Your Hand Size

If this is your first time measuring, remember that if your Anzen gloves are unused and in original packaging, you can always exchange them for a different size.

  1. Measure your palm horizontally, as shown in the guide below, ensuring you don’t measure past the red line.
  2. Compare your measurement to the chart above.
  3. If you need further assistance, please reach out to our team at Info@AnzenGK.co.uk.

Every goalkeeper has different preferences regarding the tightness or looseness of their gloves, so you won’t truly know your perfect size until you try a pair.

Tip: Avoid gloves that are too tight and touching the very tips of your fingers, or too loose, which can feel “floppy.” A glove that is too tight may tear or rip more easily, while a glove that is too spacious may not provide the confidence you need.

The Importance of Getting the Right Fit for Your Goalkeeping Gloves

Getting the right fit is crucial; a correctly fitting glove offers more comfort, confidence, and a natural feel when making contact with the ball. A glove that’s too tight can stress the materials, leading to premature wear or splits, while a glove that’s too loose may not provide an adequate grip. Remember, glove fit is a personal preference; some keepers prefer a tighter feel, while others like a looser fit (which is why you’ll see some choose tighter cuts like our Expression (Gecko), GeoMax (Roll) or XC1 (strapless) and others opt for looser cuts like our Ultra (Hybrid) or Classic (Negative).

As a general rule, measure your goalkeeper gloves from the tip of your middle finger down to the base of your palm. Keep in mind that the thickness of the gloves will add some bulk to your measurement. We recommend adding 0.5 cm to your measurement to ensure a little extra room.

If your glove arrives and it’s not what you expected, please consult our returns policy for more information.

Additional Information

Different styles and designs may vary, but our guides are your best chance at finding the right fit. Remember, you can always return them for an exchange (as long as they are unused and in original condition!).

Other Glove Sizing FAQs

If you have more questions about sizing your goalkeeper gloves, here are some frequently asked queries:

How Do You Measure a Child for Goalie Gloves?
Follow the same method outlined above! Measure the width of the palm and compare it to our size chart.

What Size Football Gloves for a 13-Year-Old?
At this age, children grow at different rates, so it’s hard to give an exact size. Generally, a 13-year-old’s goalie glove size is likely between 6-8. We always recommend measuring using the guide above, as sizes can differ between brands.

What Size Goalie Gloves for a Man?
The average hand size for men is a size 9, but individual sizes will vary. Use our sizing tool for the most accurate recommendation, and remember, you can always exchange if unused and in original condition.

Do Women Have Different Goalie Glove Sizing?
Sizing remains the same, but women typically have smaller palms, averaging sizes between 7-8. It’s common for women goalkeepers to have slimmer fingers compared to men, so you might want to choose a tighter and snug-fitting cut, which really hug the fingers.

Sometimes you can make an educated guess by shoe size. Shoe size minus 1 should give you an estimate for a glove size. For example, a make wearing size 11 boots might be happy wearing a size 10 glove. It’s an estimate, not an exact science, and different cuts feel different too.
